Raven’s Review: Sword of the new World - Granado Espada

What a great adventure it has to be to discover a brandnew world full of mysteries and wonders. To step your foot, where no man or woman was before. Well, if this is your dream,then you should take a look at SWORD OF THE NEW WORLD - GRANADO ESPADA. 

The game starts with the maybe best invention since the creation on MMORPGs… you are able to control up to 3 characters at the same time!
Yeah, you heard right. 3 characters at the same time. RPG player only had this fun with Secret of Mana or Ultima series. But this time, the player
gets thrown into a completely 3D Scenario with a huge number of enemies. By the way, you can even name your Family and the single characters by yourself. As for me, I called my family vonDrachensturm, which you still can find at the Illier server. Okay, let’s get started!

At the begin, you may choose a team of three character classes from this list below, no matter if female or male. However, during the game, you are able to collect so-called UPC, which are having powerful, unique or combined abbilities, which makes the snw vis game a bit easier. But let us talk about the standard character classes, shall we?

The Standart Characters (Stock Characters)

1. The Fighter: The standard Fighter in SotnW is pretty strong and contains a lot of attack forms, which are individual in weapon use like with sword of the new world vis and Shield, sword and gun, Helebarde, Spear and so on. Like in other games, the Fighter is mostly used as Tank to take the attention of the enemies from the other supporting characters.

2. The Scout: This character is more like a healer in SotnW, which can also attack with one or two daggers. But the most used function of this character is the supporting and healing function, which works best when the Scout is unarmed. On this way, the Scout heals automatically. Next this, the Scout can also get useful spells, which expands their life, defends or attack rate.

3. The Wizard: The wizard is a powerful character, even though his attack range is not always big. This character uses power to defeat his enemies and is able to fly at a higher level, which depends on his choice of weapons, which are a rod and a staff. But that’s not all what the wizard can do. In a different stance (that’s how the different attack forms are called), the wizard is able to cast different barriers onto other characters (the own family or Party) and himself, which are protecting them from all kind of attack.

4. The Elemetalist: Gifted with the elements of Fire, Water and Wind (Lightning), the Elementalist is able to use attacks, which allows him to cover huge areas with one single attack. However, because of this, the Elementalist lacks a bit of strength. But next to those huge attacks, the Elementalist is also able to give the elemental force to other characters (family or party) to make them stronger against specific enemies.

5. The Musketeer: This kind of character are using ther cunning to fight their enemies accurately. Armed with guns and rifles, the Musketeers are giving a good protection for the family. The use of bullets, buck shots or even cannonballs cost snw vis you money or bettes say Vis (the current in the game), however, during the higher lvls, the Musketeer is getting stronger and able to attack several enemies at once.

The Unique-Playable-Characters (UPC)

As you may know from above, there are different UPCs, which you can get during the game by fulfilling their quests and requests. But what is the special of those Unique-Playable-Characters? Well, most of them are having strong attack forms. Others are having skills, which the normal stock characters never will get. Here is a small snw vis preview what kind of UPC you can get:

1. Gracielo: The stubborn punk from the Port of Coimbra is a strong Martial Art fighter, who uses a Sikaran Style. His power is not high, but his speed is impressive and once you get his buff spell “Raging Wind”, he gets even fasters and a true nightmare for his enemies.

2. Viki: Viki ist maybe one of the mysteries of SotnW, because a lot of people are argumenting what viki could be… a boy or a girl. Anyway, let’s talk about Viki’s skills. That little kid (right, a child of about 8 years), is able to summon different creatures, started by a cute and innocent St. Bernard up to a huge and scary stone golem. But next to Viki’s “guardians”, the little kid has also the skills of a Scout, even though the Scout heals a bit better than Viki.

3. Adelina Esperanza: I swear, if there is a heaven, they just lost one of their angels. Adelina is not only a powerful sword of the new world vis fighter, but she also is able to use most of them with Sabers, which gives her even more strength into her attacks than a standard fighter could have… however, there are two more reasons why most of the male player likes her… but anyway.

Because Sword of the new World Vis a Free-to-Play game, the promoters (K2) have to earn somehow the money for their server, and here comes the cash-shop and the premium UPC into the game. To buy one of the Cash-Shop Items, you need a G1-Account, because without one, you won’t be able to buy gold for the items or even play the game itself.

The Chas-Shop and Premium UPCs

The Cash-Shop is a neat idear to provide the gamers with items, which makes them more stronger, faster or a better defense, but also allowing them to enter a special area called Forgotten Area, in which the Sword of the New World Vis players are not only finding a large number of enemies, but also can train and collect more loot without the trouble of player-kill (PK) or kill-steal (KS). But those areas are not the only one, which the snw vis player can only may access by using a Cash-Shop item. Land of the Dead is a huge area, which is only made for Cash-Shop player to collect special items for 92th Armor or Premium UPCs.

Premium UPCs are unlike normal UPC only to get with Cash-Shop items (like Mysterious Powder or Return Scrolls for example). However, those characters are not for nothing. Let’s take Irawain for example. This Martial Art (Thai Boxing) starts maybe with level 1, but gets enormous strong at the higher levels. On top of that, he is able to use the same attacks of two UPC Martial Art Fighters, which you only get at a higher level.

The Critics

Now, all those facts are petty impressive and the World Map, on which you find your adventures, is really enormous… but is that all, you may ask? Sadly, but no. In fact, there are a lot of things, which can tear you apart while playing SotnW. For example the Baron Mode. If you PK someone, you automatically enters this mode, which allows everyone to attack you. You can get rid of the Baron Mode by killing enemies, but the more people you PKed, the more enemies you have to kill before you can leave the Baron Mode. But if this wouldn’t be that bad, you can even loose items if someone kills you while your in Baron Mode.

A different matter is the report function. As you may know, you have to make an account at G1 if you like to play SotnW, but this sword of the new world vis page is mostly damaged or bugged. And if you sent a report via ticket, it takes a long time, even though they promise immediately servies for Premium User (which means, you have to buy something from their Cash-Shop or their Premium Package).
Final Result: 89% (Good)
Sword of the new World Vis - Granado Espada is a great game with some bugs, which have to be fixed. The game itself is suitable for beginners of this genre but also for professionals who enjoyed World of Warcraft, Lineage 2 or Silkroad Online. The use of three characters at once makes this game pretty unique and with the use of the many different UPC, the fun stay a little longer. It is true that even in this game are bots, but less than in Silkroad or somewhere else and you know what to do if you see a bot… PK them!!!
