Gates of Andaron Reviews

Please note that I am writing this as an early review. I have spent about seven hours with this newly released MMO. Opinions may change as I dive deeper into the game but for the moment, these are my thoughts.

I have been playing MMO’s for a while (about 12 years). I have played many PTP and FTP games, taking the good with the bad, most of which was bad. The majority of FTP MMO’s out there stink, let’s be honest. The controls are wanky, or there is terrible graphics, or they passivly ‘force’ you to pay real money for items that pretty much make gameplay a huge nuisance without (I’m talking to you Atlantica!). But so far, Gates of Andaron Gold  has fulfilled all of these categories without disappointment. In addition to Runes of Magic, this is one of the best free to play MMO’s I’ve encountered so far, and I would be lying if I said I’ve tried less than 30+ of them. The real money online store offers a few nifty things like +exp potions, or special mounts, but nothing that you ‘need’ to play or enjoy the game.

Moving right along, GoA offers three different races; human, feline, and fairy. Each of them has their strong points and weak points in relevance to the class they choose, of which there are 6. They are warrior, night walker (rogue), archer, magician, Gates of Andaron Goldpriest, and finally evocator. Fantasy MMO vets will be more than familiar with the classes so I won’t go into the skills of each.

The targetting and controls are mapped out pretty nice. You can move via the W A D keys instead of being forced to click the ground like most FTP games.

The skills and attacks can be performed via the F1 or number keys, or by clicking the skill buttons on the hotbar. You can customize what goes where soGates of Andaron Gold suit your needs.

The leveling is fairly balanced. Although the first ten levels will move rather quickly by doing the simple assortment of started quests, this will slow down a bit after level 10, but not to the point where you’re forced to go out and grind 1000x wolves to level up. There is quite a large assortment of quests to keep you busy. How this mayGates of Andaron Gold or may not change in the higher up levels I do not know, but for now I’m kept busy.

Graphically, the game can be (and I hate to use the comparison) to WoW. Although I’ve NEVER gotten into WoW, I can see the similarity in the more cartoony graphics opposed to the more realistic approach from games like Conan or EQ2. While this isn’t my personal preference, they aren’t a pain to look at. The details on the armor and weapon sets are also pretty nice, even if you’re using a low level weak set like bronze or the like. Items are also pretty, and can be upgraded, so GOA gold you don’t have to constantly get new gear.

Make a good deal of gaia gold

How you can earn enough gold to afford that item that you want? I will not go into it in detail, but here are some basic steps that can help you out.

When you are starting out, there are many ways to make a good deal of gaia gold:

- Do the beginner quest This gets you a good sum of gold to start out with and some items too. You can sell them later if you don’t like them.

- Daily Chance: This gives out a sum of gold and some items every day. Although it’s usually junk, sometimes you get items which you can actually use or sell for gold. Sofar, I’ve gotten as much as 250g from one click on the Daily Chance.

- Play Games Puzzles give out a good deal of gaia gold, especially for the harder puzzles.

- Post, Comment, Make Journal Entries, Pollwhore I make roughly 1000g a day just from posting around in the forums, surfing, voting on polls, making journal entries, and commenting on profiles. In just 10-12 days of doing that, I would have enough to buy a sealed letter of the current month without spending my own money. razz

- Sell your unwanted items If you don’t have a vending or trading pass yet, you can sell some of your unwanted items gained from daily chance in the shops. Generally, they go for less than the cost. But once you have 1500g for both a vending and trading pass, you can begin selling and trading your items for more gold. :3

- If you can, buy sealed letters
Some people fund their entire gaia goldaccounts by buying sealed letters for $2.50 US each. But I would not reccomend this if you do not have the cash to spare yourself, or your parents are not OK with it. I don’t fund my account with these, but I usually buy two a month with my own money. Items often go up in worth over time, and are a good investment. Plus, they’re addictive and fun to collect!

- Set up a quest thread.
If there’s an item you are questing for, set up a thread for it. Don’t beg and plead. Instead, place a link in your profile.

- Participate in raffles, giveaways, and contests
This is a great way to earn wanted items and gold. Although there is a good deal of competition. I look for giveaways that include items I want, and I also participate in Art Contests.

- Set up a shop or auction
This is, in my opinion, the best way to make gaia gold. I go into the art shop process more in a later post. But this is how I fund my gaia gold account, while also gaining some experience and giving me a chance to practice new techniques.

- Vend (buy low, sell high)
Once you earn roughly 10-30k from using the above methods you can begin vending by buying monthly collectible items for cheap and then selling Gaia Online Gold for higher. If you don’t have any marketable talents, this is the best way to make riches in a short amount of time.

Another Cross Class Q in RF

Hey guys, now here  give you a guide for all the players. I think it will be helpful for RF Online Gold players. Hope you will like it. 

This combo really doesn”t shine until level(RF Online Gold) 40+ where it explodes into something beastly and at 50 it becomes downright brutal. Since you base is warrior you will want to go defense, had your base been ranger we would say go dodge but either works really - they just involve different play styles. Make sure to keep your pts high.

Remember that as soon as everyone figures out that you are a debuffer they will go for you first, so have heavy melee armor, shield, and counter attack all at the ready. Your survivability like this is actually vastly better than a dodger as all those nasty little things that ruin dodge players have a much harder time killing defense players. Keep in mind that you will be a cross class - so you will never be as good of a tank as a Merc or hit as hard as an Assualter, or be able tospeed/rez people as a pure spec would. But that doesn”t mean it’’s bad at all.

Since you would have tier 2/3 skills you can actually deal some damage where a pure spec would be locked in to lousy tier 1 skills and honestly would have no business ever attacking. It’’s a hybrid class and so you have to make up for your lack of focus with ingenuity and resourcefulness. The Spec/Merc alt is a blast to play and is by no means bad. Not to mention people get extremely confused when they see my use a Tier 3 skill and follow it up with a web grenade
